You don't have to go to Paris to be in Paris :)

I am in Shanghai, sitting inside a little bakery called Croissants de France. Even though I know right outside the door is a sleepless city filled with extremely strong men and women (in high heels) who aren’t afraid of walking for miles at a stretch. And right now, I feel like writing. I tried writing in a notebook that I bought today morning, but I just find typing more convenient, and I happen to have my laptop with me right now. I ordered a Raspberry Mousse which happened to be one of the best desserts I’ve ever had to eat.

And then, because I couldn’t bear to leave this lovely little place, I ordered a Mango Yoghurt drink which is absolutely delicious. To top it all, there’s amazing Jazz music playing and I feel like I am not in Shanghai anymore. Don’t get me wrong, as time has passed, I’ve come to adore Shanghai. But being in France (Paris) has always been my dream, right? So this place is like my paradise right now. I should get out of the house more often.

Suddenly, I know how I am going to spend my remaining four days here! Burger King is right down the street and has Wi-Fi! Wonderful.

Seems like it was a good thing I forgot my keys at home today. Everything happens for a reason, right?

Who said you have to go to Paris to be in Paris? At this very instant, if I close my eyes and tell you to ask me where I think I am, you already know what I’ll answer.

Now all I need is the perfect man to dance with me to the tune of the Jazz.

Or maybe I don’t need him, yet. I am ready to wait for a little longer, if it means that he will be all that I want him to be.

Being alone is not half as bad as I thought it would be. Not as long as I can write.

Being alone makes me reflect on a lot of things and helps me think more clearly about who I am and what I am supposed to be.

I must remember the following when I go back home:

I promised myself that I will learn French and Chinese before I turn 30 and travel to France and China thereafter.

I promised myself that I won’t be afraid of being alone. It’s one of the best ways to be when you don’t know who to be with.

Maybe more of the promises will follow later.

Also, I am extremely proud of myself because today, I didn’t spend even a buck on shopping. I only window shopped and tried on clothes.

I fell in love with the clothes and the shoes, but snapped out of it when I realized I won’t be able to wear those things back home. (Another reason why I want to move out)

I bought four dresses, yesterday. My motto is, when you feel down, when you feel like the world’s kicking you around, buy a pretty dress.

It always works. Unless, you’re a guy. In that case, find a pretty girl and buy her a pretty dress. That will work for you!
